02 December, 2003 Contact: Leo Goodsell, Executive Director Musical program BERRIEN SPRINGS. Story-telling songstress Laura Whidden will present a special concert at the 1839 Courthouse Museum in Berrien Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 11. The Christian-music concert is free and open to the public. Laura Whidden has brought her powerful soprano voice to scores of concerts throughout America. Accompanied by piano and acoustic guitar, Whidden recorded her first album - the critically-acclaimed Awaken Me - in 1998. Her newest CD, Flow, was released in July 2003 and features Whidden's original songs. Her largest live audience to date has been a crowd of 25,000 young people at an international youth event held in Wisconsin. Whidden states that through her music she seeks to restore in humanity the awe of God, which leads to repentance, a deeper relationship, and meaningful worship.
